Meningitis : 4 g followed by 2 g i.v. (children 75-100 mg/ kg) once daily for 7-10 days. Typhoid : 4 g i.v. daily x 2 days followed by 2 g/day (children 75 mg/kg) till 2 days after fever subsides.
