WebI upgraded my Hoks from the universal binding to 3 pin last year. For me the universal binding just didn’t give me any control on downhills. As a substitute for a snowshoe they were fine, though. If you expect to try to link turns with the Hoks then you need to get a more responsive binding than the universal is.
